What is it about?

This work in Nachrichten aus der Chemie tries to make more users of small-molecule single-crystal X-ray diffraction aware of the later developments. These developments permit to determine bond distances to hydrogen atoms in agreement with neutron diffraction and quantum chemical computations by using aspherical scattering factors.

Why is it important?

This work shows, alongside the earlier papers where full details were given that one key weakness of small-molecule single-crystal X-ray diffraction does not exist anymore.

Perspectives

Let's not forget R. F. Stewart's contributions towards this research. He suggested to fix this problem already in 1975.
