What is it about?
An antenna design that produces a radiation beam which is directed along the length of antenna. The geometry of designed antenna makes it possible to be installed in a metallic platform.

Why is it important?
The bandwidth of a cavity backed antenna producing end-fire radiation is limited. A design has been presented in the paper which results in improved bandwidth performance compared to previous designs of this kind, while being consistent with the geometrical configuration of the previous designs.
