What is it about?

Cancer is a set of different diseases. One of the hallmarks of cancer is that many genes are expressed abnormally. In our work, we try to understad molecular mechanisms involed in the regulation of a gene which has been associated with gastrointetinal cancers.

Why is it important?

To understand mechanisms of gene regulation in cancer might be a important strategy to improve diagnostic, treatment or prognosis of different cancers.

Perspectives

To modulate the expression of genes with the purpose of apply this strategy to clinical outcomes
