What is it about?

This paper explains a novel, evidence-informed technique sonography preceptors can use to integrate student training into a ultrasound department without impacting patient volumes.

Why is it important?

Many ultrasound departments struggle to participate in student training because of the negative impact it can have on patient bookings. This research challenges a long-standing understanding in the field of how sonography students learn and introduces a technique that integrates the student in clinics with bookings every 20-30 minutes.

Perspectives

I believe this research is important because we developed this evidence-informed approach with the student as co-researcher. We often try to solve teaching and learning problems without student involvement and this research illustrates how students can be included as equal partners.
