Why is it important?

Because of the increase of unethical leadership behavior, it is becoming more important for scholars, researchers, and other professionals to understand the motivating factors that cause leaders to act in an ethical or an unethical manner. This research explored a new area of consideration involving the deeper psychological influences evolving from an individual's education, family, peers, and religion.

Perspectives

In this research, I am striving to understand the underlying influences that help shape ethical and unethical behavior in modern leaders. While this is a new area of research, the concepts that emerged helped to underscore the need to understand how early influences of education, family, peers, and religion can contribute to positive or negative moral identity development.
