What is it about?

This study was carried out to evaluate the impact of organic vs. conventional cultivation of basmati rice on soil health in Haryana, India. Over long-term, improved physical, chemical, and biological indicators of soil health were observed in organic vs conventional farms. Greater organic matter buildup enhanced nutrient cycling in systems receiving organic amendments. Enzyme activities were very also sensitive to short-term effects of organic vs. conventional nutrient management.
