What is it about?

We know about women entrepreneurs mostly from the Western nations. This literature review based study systematically presents how the family shapes the experiences of women business-owners in non-Western developing countries. It explains the positive and negative impact of the family on women’s businesses. It also offers important recommendations for future researchers.

Why is it important?

The paper is particularly important for future researchers as it suggests important guidelines for new studies in women’s entrepreneurship related to family issues in developing nations. Besides, as the women’s entrepreneurship research is developed nations centric, this article is helpful in understanding women business-owners’ experiences from less studied areas of the world.
