What is it about?

The paper is about the Indian Diamond Industry which polishes today 95 % of all diamonds set in jewellery worldwide. This global hub of cutting and polishing of diamonds is part of a so- called unorganized sector run by thousands of entrepreneurs and 2 million workers with little formal education.

The collective organization of firms in Indian Diamond Industry has been able to shift the global hub of diamond cutting and polishing from Antwerp in Belgium to Gujarat in India.

The organization of the informal firms of the industry is explained by investigation culture, and it is proposed that cultire governs business practices in the Indian Diamond industry.
