What is it about?

The expression of the code that synthesizes the growth factor that helps the salamander spinal cord recover after we completely cut it in the middle of the animal's back. This process takes about 6 weeks to be done and the animal is then able to walk and swim again.

Why is it important?

An animal that is capable of walking 6 weeks after being paralysed is a scoop in science. What if humans subjected to accidents could have the same ability?

Perspectives

Find the equivalent in humans in order to avoid paraplegia and tetraplegia.
