What is it about?
We seek to analyze the impact of any increase in agricultural productivity on off-farm employment. This is theoretically done as an extension of Lewis' model and empirically on a sample of African countries using robust econometric regressions.

Why is it important?
We take into consideration the characteristics of sectors while assessing growth impact. This constitues an important limit to "New Growth Theory".
Perspectives
It was a great pleasure writing this article. It might not please some actors, as its implications unfollow some policies and aids issued to push more African young in the agricultural sector. Whereas this sector is already faced labor surplus. We show that the emphasis must be placed on more productive jobs for low skills people.
