What is it about?

Use of self reflective video was a strategy used to improve the learning outcome for dental students in a predoctoral setting. Students learn to reflect on their learning and to share with their classmates. This created a student centered learning and help students make better connection with the material they learn with clinical application.

Why is it important?

Our findings shows that this method may provide a student centered learning environment for students. In addition, it also helps identify curriculum deficiency for course director.

Perspectives

Teaching dental students to practice dentistry takes more than just delivering content in a lecture setting. This article may give dental educators some new ideas to help students make better connections with the learned material and to have better engagements from the students.
