What is it about?

Arsenic in drinking water poses serious potential health risks in more than 30 countries with total affected population of around 100 million people. We have developed innovative sorbents based on zeolites modified with iron and manganese compounds. The developed materials showed improved performance up to 99.3 times in comparison to their unmodified counterparts, and have a great potential for water remediation.

Why is it important?

Newly developed materials are relatively cheap, easy to obtain and efficient in remediating water from arsenic compounds, and thus can be applied in solving the water contamination problem.
