What is it about?

This paper investigates, for the first time, endocytosis across different cell types in an intact, functioning tissue - the Arabidopsis root. It shows that there are multiple mechanisms of endocytosis operating in different layers of the root, and that a novel hitherto unreported mechanisms kicks in when the plants is challenged by high salt. This novel pathway appears to have survival value for the plant.
