What is it about?

The Hill criteria, published 1965 in the context of effect causation of pharmaceuticals, were adapted in order to differentiate between intrinsic effects and other reasons for the observed effects as in the regulatory context (e.g. REACH) only intrinsic toxicity matters.

I consider this a contribution to a more appropriate assessment of data as is it is a supplement to the generally accepted Klimisch scheme. Test artifacts may be more safely recognized when checking experiments according to the Hill criteria, adaped for (eco-)toxicity data.
