What is it about?

We used a Maximum Entropy Production energy balance model with air temperature, specific humidity and net radiation as input, to estimate densely shrub covered surface evapotranspiration, and partitioned it to canopy transpiration and sub-canopy evaporation. Results were well compared to 1D Hydrus modeling results and FAO crop coefficient method calculations.

Why is it important?

Evapotranspriration and its partitioning is crucial in land surface water budgets study and accurate estimation can improve water use efficiency as well help understand how plants survive water stress.
