What is it about?
Why do head and neck cancer patients often present late? What factors affectt their survival?

Why is it important?
Early presentation is associated with prognosis and overall outcomes. It is important to understand the disparities associated with late presentation, as well as the predictors of these disparities, so that interventions aimed at reducing them will be effective.
Perspectives
It was great to publish this paper using data from our local cancer registry. There are quite a number of articles on head and neck cancer outcomes using national dataset such as SEER, NCDB, and NIS. Sometimes, local contextual factors may mean that what is found from national data may not exactly reflect what is happening at a local, single institution level. An article like this presents the perspective of a local, tertiary cancer center.
