What is it about?

Calculating the identification power (probability that a gene or other feature will be identified as being associated with clinical outcome in an analysis controlling the false discovery rate) in advance of a study to assess sample size. Applicable when there a a large number of genes or features to evaluate.

Why is it important?

Gives researchers a way to do power calculations for discovery of individual genes or other features when there are very many to evaluate.
