This research was the first publication resulting from my PhD work at NC State University. We were interested in investigating the occurrence and movement of emerging contaminants at a sustainable wastewater treatment system and ultimately comparing this system to a conventional, large scale system. This was the beginning of a multi-year investigation that led to two other publications.
