What is it about?

Seismic response on wind turbines in the vertical direction.

Why is it important?

Vertical response from earthquake is often ignored due to high residual capacity in the vertical direction, and natural frequencies that does not correlate with the frequencies of an earthquake. With tall structures like wind turbines this might not be the case anymore.
