What is it about?

Methods for recovering indium from In-containing residues can be classified into two treatment processes. This study carried out a hydrometallurgical method for achieving various metal ion separations from indium (III) conveniently.

Why is it important?

Based on our results, the aqueous and organic phase parameters can be easily manipulated to attain a high separation efficiency of indium(III) from commonly associated elements.

Perspectives

The optimized experimental conditions used in this work can be further used to develop a process from an economic viewpoint that would require a very low extractant concentration and less O/A ratio to attain a high indium recovery and minimum coextracted impurities from the etching waste solution of ITO.
