We describe an easy synthetic route towards a family of Mn(III) monomers providing a quick trivalent manganese source.

Why is it important?
Previous synthetic routes towards Mn(III)F3(diimine) monomeric complexes utilised toxic HF at high temperatures. We show that this is unnecessary and can be made in 5 minutes using commercially available MnF3. We also use High-Field / High-Frequency EPR and SQUID measurements to obtain their ZFS (D) values.
