What is it about?

I discuss a wide range of barriers (e.g. behavioral, social and institutional) to the diffusion of energy efficiency technologies in buildings in the city district of Hammarby Sjöstad in Stockholm. I claim that a coherent policy framework is required to address various barriers in an integrated manner.

Why is it important?

To enhance the energy efficiency in building I discuss the policy instruments over time and across two societal domains of energy and housing that demands for an interdisciplinary planning and integrated policy framework involving key actors in the decision making process .

Perspectives

In my future research , based on the results of this work I will develop a framework for policy mix analysis to better map the interaction between different types of barriers and therefore proposing appropriate policy tools accordingly.
