What is it about?

Oil palm production increases climate change. Climate change is highly detrimental to oil palm growth. These interrelated issues are discussed for the first time. Procedures to ameliorate these effects are provided as practical schemes.

Why is it important?

Uniquely the two issues are discussed. New regions where oil palm could be grown are mentioned, but not at the expense of further deforestation. A plan of action is provided to tackle the issues.

Perspectives

I was pleased to have this paper published as it highlights the two issues of oil palms causing climate change and climate change being detrimental to oil palms. They are interrelated. The paper is useful for listing the amelioration methods in one place. There is also a call for action!
