What is it about?
The study finds that corporate managers are still less concerned about the meaning and essence of pristine business goals and true goals and role of CSR. They practice CSR largely as a voluntary philanthropic fashion to build public image and enhance primarily business profit, not necessarily for social wellbeing. Their CSR practices have been found more of a cosmetic and face-saving marketing strategy undermining its social wellbeing goal for sustainable development. CSR movement, therefore, needs reformation.

Why is it important?
Though most of the companies of the world are now engaged in CSR activities, but their CSR activities have not been able to bring any significant and meaningful change in terms of environmental sustainability, social justice, and equity, the focal point of pristine business goals and objectives. Until the CSR movement is reformed and tuned to its main focus its real goal cannot be achieved. Under the circumstance, what is required now is a movement to redress the mindset of the corporate management to make them able to understand the sacred role of business and its pristine goals.
