Why is it important?
The underdevelopment of the Africa continent is partly blamed on poor leadership yet there scarce empirical literature on leadership and management in the African context. Further, we cannot improve leadership if we do not know what leadership effectiveness, motivation and culture is in Africa's context. This study addresses this problem using both emic and etic approaches and highlights possible directions for improving leadership in Africa.
