What is it about?

In this work, we found that by changing the catalyst slightly we could affect large changes in selectivity. That is, small modifications to the supporting scaffold of the compound resulted in different products.

Why is it important?

Hydroarylation is a valuable reaction for making commodity chemicals. If we can do it selectively, we can decrease the cost of the process and increase the value of the products. Our findings will help the design of catalysts and systems for the efficient production of linear alkylbenzenes.
