What is it about?

The paper describes the different types of gas discharge-driven excilamps - design, main output parameters and their applications.

Why is it important?

Excilamps are the efficient sources of narrow-band spontaneous radiation in UV and VUV spectral range. By use of different working molecules it is possible to produce a narrow (up to 10-15 nm) radiation with peak wavelengths on 172, 206, 222, 259, 282, 289, 308, 342 nm.

Perspectives

Excilamps can be used in many fields: technical applications, biology, photochemistry, medicine and others.
