Why is it important?

We think the main take home message of this work is that regenerative medicine based on the use of MSCs and platelet gel can be usefull to promote soft tissue regeneration when the lesion is too much extended to be resolved by surgery. MSCs and PRP are quite effective not only promoting tissue regeneration but also controlling the inflammatory response of the damaged tissue.

Perspectives

Although a single case cannot prove the efficacy of our approach, we think that sharing experience in this relatively new field could contribute to the set-up of reliable protocols for clinical application of regenerative therapy in veterinary medicine.
