Perforating atretic pulmonary valve by coronary hardware

What is it about?

Atresia of the pulmonary valve is a serious congenital heart disease. If this occurs in the setting of no VSD it can be managed by percutaneous intervention in cardiac cath lab. Perforation of this atretic pulmonary valve is not easy especially due to the limited availability of the hardwares for use in the neonates. Use of coronary hardwares allows this perforation predictably.

Use of coronary wires used in chronic total occlusion are extremely useful in perforating these atretic pulmonary valves with predictability.
