What is it about?

This paper presents a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulator, named HIL-GSS, which aims to help the students of aerospace engineering learn control and missile guidance theories effectively by using interactive instrumentation. Electromechanical components and interactive panels are illustrated.

Why is it important?

HIL-GSS is an effective educational tool for aerospace engineering atudents.

Perspectives

The constructed interactive educational HIL real-time simulation system HIL-GSS has been developed for aerospace engineering education. With the help of specific cases, students are fully involved in the experiment for deepening their understanding of the basic concepts. As a result, the “Case-based Teaching and Problem-based Learning ” is achieved. Furthermore, by introducing interactive HIL realtime simulation in engineering projects that our laboratory participate, students can be exposed to more practical experience. Consequently, the HIL-GSS has a positive effect for the student learning.
