What is it about?

Tyrosinase is broadly distributed enzyme. In this study, I engineered a bacterial tyrosinase with circular permutation method. And quantitative production of 3'-hydroxy-genistein was achieved with a tyrosinase variant.

Why is it important?

This is the first report to apply circular permutation to engineering tyrosinase. A tyrosinase variant enabled efficient preparation of orobol.
