What is it about?
In this paper we report 37.5 hours of observations of the cataclysmic variable AE Aqr performed simultaneously in 2 bands - B and V.

Why is it important?
Surprisingly, on the colour - magnitude diagram, all the observations form a well defined strip, which indicates that all the flares have similar temperature of the material involved. For the blobs, we estimate average color B-V=0.19 and average temperature 9400 K.
Perspectives
It will be interesting to construct the color-magnitude diagram of the flickering in other cataclysmic and symbiotic stars.
