What is it about?

How to check stability/instability of switched systems with unstable subsystems? If there are unstable subsystems, how to stabilize such switched systems? We proposes several criteria of stability of two-dimensional switched linear time-invariant systems with stable/unstable focus of subsystems. Some stabilizing results are also given for such switched systems.

Why is it important?

Although the dimension of switched systems with unstable subsystems is just two, the results proposed and the obtaining ideas may give some inspirations to further study such kind of switched systems.

Perspectives

The results obtained for stability/stabilization of such switched systems show that dynamics of switched systems are more complex than general non-switching systems, and it is possible to investigate stability issues of switched systems with unstable subsystems.
