What is it about?

Alkene and alkyne oxidation reactions are of fundamental importance in organic synthesis. The Pd-catalyzed Wacker oxidation is a well-known method for their converting to carbonyl compounds. The oxidation of terminal alkynes, however, have low low activity and selectivity. In this study, we focused on cyclic diphenylacetylenes to evaluate which structural elements are responsible for their activity on the Wacker oxidation.
