What is it about?

The aim of this study was to evaluate mucosal production of CC16 and ECP in patients with perennial allergic rhinitis, non-allergic and allergic patients with chronic polypous rhinosinusitis, before and after nasal corticosteroid administration.

Why is it important?

CC16 and ECP measured in nasal secretions could be reliable markers for assessment of the recovery function of sinonasal mucosa after anti-inflammatory treatment.

Perspectives

This study is important, because it gives us new prospective in understanding and treatment of chronical rhinosinusitis.
