Why is it important?
Inappropriate testing and overuse of diagnostic tools equates to increased health care costs and associated patient harm in the form of subjecting them patients to the risks of the test itself and then to further subsequent additional tests and procedures We need to control and review medical imaging overuse. Transthoracic echocardiography is a relatively benign test and is vulnerable to exploitation and overuse.
