Pancreas-preserving resection of lower biliary tract adenocarcinoma: A coring-out technique

What is it about?

We have described our surgical procedure for pancreas-preserving resection of the lower biliary tract using a “coring-out technique”, which is less invasive than pancreaticoduodenectomy and can be carried out even in patients with decreased performance status, significant comorbidities, and/or anatomical anomalies. This organ-preserving approach may be an effective and alternative procedure for those selected patients.
