What is it about?

In this article we reported the first polymer od intrinsic microporosity (PIM) that improved the overall performance of the best (to that date) polymer for gas separation reported in the literature, PIM-1. The paper shows how we decided to approach to the synthesis of novel rigid monomers, following the indication that increased rigidity would have have lead to higher free volume, crucial feature for a good film for gas separation.
