This article surveys the rise of Christianity on a global scale, emerging from the southern continents in particular--Africa, Latin America, and Asia. Providing both a historical timeline and an overview of the new expressions of Christianity worldwide, it widens the traditional views of institutionalized church and faith practices and explains the implications for global Christianity.
