What is it about?

The Greek world extended far beyond Greece and the Aegean, with Greek settlements found in areas throughout the Black Sea region, the Near east, North Africa and the western Mediterranean. This paper examines the development of the westernmost Greek settlements, in northern Italy, southern France, Spain and the islands of the western Mediterranean.
