Why is it important?

The results showed the NPs working in primary care who were responsible for managing patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) could benefit from better communication with rheumatologists, as well as further education and training in the management of RA with access to tools and resources about RA.

Perspectives

NPs working in primary care have specific professional and educational needs on many topics, RA is one of them. In order to enhance their role of providing evidence-based quality care to patients with RA, NPs need education and tools to help decrease disease exacerbations and improve quality of life of their patients with RA.
