What is it about?

Water is lifeline for all organisms on planet earth. We have shown pollution profiling of Ramsar site. Pollution load by various chemicals were quantified and their transfer from water to aquatic flora was calculated to study indicator species and degree of contamination.

Why is it important?

Transfer of metals/pollutants from one ecosytem level to other and at different trophic levels leads to delterious effects and ailment in living beings. Our finding show presence of harmful concentration of metals in aquatic and terrestrial plant speices in the area indicating heavy contamination in the study area.

Perspectives

I hope this piece of work will make academicians and researcher aware of water pollution and develop economic, biological methods for decontamination of water resources.
