What is it about?
Why is the Southern African Plateau so high? Is it anything to do with the lithosphere? Or processes below the lithosphere? We show in our paper that the lithosphere beneath the Kaapvaal Craton can support an elevation of order 670 m, which means that the difference to the observed elevation of 1320 m, ie around 650 m, must come from below the lithosphere.
