What is it about?
The streambed (or riverbed) properties are influenced by river stage, interaction between river and groundwater and sediment load. I order to detect easily variations in the properties of the streambed over time, we present and use a method based on timeseries of river stage and near stream piezometric head variations.

Why is it important?
- It is a flexible and rapid tool to control changes in streambed (riverbed) hydraulic properties. - It allows to observe enhancement of hyporheic flow, i.e. unclogging, for river restoration results monitoring. - For modeling purpose, it can justify the need to calibrate model using transience in the streambed properties, such as the conductance. - It a tool to understand the relation between climatic event, hydraulic regime and streambed properties variations.
