Previous studies have reported increase in frequency of high rainfall events during Indian monsoon season but the exact cause is still uncertain. Our study hint that aerosol perturbations to cloud systems over India should be studied in detail for probable linkage of prevalent heavy aerosol loading with daily rainfall events over Northern India.
