What is it about?

This paper provides a regional investigation on the seasonal sea level cycle over the northwest Pacific during 1900-2013. Four questions are answered: 1) the detailed spatial features of the seasonal sea level cycle; 2) how well gridded satellite altimetry can represent the coastal seasonal sea level cycle; 3) how much the seasonal cycle changes with time; and 4) what cause the seasonal sea level oscillations and their long-term variability, and to what extent each contributor can predict the variability.
