What is it about?
Combination of electrodialysis to ion-exchange has been investi-gated for the electro-treatment of diluted copper-containing solu-tions in a laboratory cell. Inorganic ions exchangers based on Zr-phosphate groups on alumina support have been used for this p ur-pose. The paper describes briefly the results of fundamental inves-tigations of the various phenomena encountered namely, loading ofthe copper cations in the sorbents, electrodialysis of copper cations, regeneration of the sorbents under the action of an electrical fieldand finally, preliminary test of copper cations abatement from asolution by combined ion-exchange and electrodialysis.
