Why is it important?

Hailstones of 5cm in diameter are very rare as was the rate of rainfall 75mm falling in 90 minutes. What makes article so fascinating are the excellent photographs taken by the residents at the time. A really interesting read that has been well received by everyone in the meteorological community.

As an amateur weather forecaster in Leicestershire this was a very exciting and rare event as photos were sent to me straight to my Twitter account @rothleyweather. An enjoyable read for all concerned. This easy to read article is easily accessible by both amateurs and professionals alike!
