What is it about?

The pelvic floor muscles play an important role in supporting pelvic organs and maintaining continence. Reduced muscle contraction can play a role in development of pelvic organ prolapse. We showed that pelvic floor muscle trauma and pelvic organ prolapse is associated with reduced pelvic floor muscle contraction in women from the general population.
