What is it about?
Fetuses with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a form of congenital heart disease, are at risk for poor neurodevelopmental outcome, possibly due to diminished oxygen delivery to the brain in utero. Providing mothers carrying these fetuses with oxygen could theoretically improve fetal oxygen delivery to the brain. In this manuscript, we identify potential candidates for this therapy and timing of therapy.
